This is your special day and I’m there to capture it in pictures for you. I’m not there to direct your wedding. My background is in photojournalism, which colors my approach to wedding photography. I started my professional photography career at The Ann Arbor News and am still a news photographer at heart. While I'm happy to take the traditional posed shots that are part of most weddings, I think my special skill is anticipating and catching candid moments - those telling instants when two or more people connect. I've been doing this for years. You will barely notice I'm there except for those times I need to set up a staged photo. I typically shoot digital, but if you want hand-printed black & white photos of your wedding, I can develop and print them in my darkroom.
